Summary - An ancient Ring thought lost for centuries has been found, and through a strange twist of fate has been given to a small Hobbit named Frodo. When Gandalf discovers the Ring is in fact the One Ring of the Dark Lord Sauron, Frodo must make an epic quest to the Cracks of Doom in order to destroy it. However, he does not go alone. I think in the book Balin and the rest of the dwarves were slain 25 years ago or so before the fellowship arrive, that's an awful lot of time for nobody getting news of the people there. The acting was well done, for the most part. The plot obviously is fantastic, the flow was excellent, until the end but what do you expect. It's difficult to stop in the middle of a story, especially this one. The cinematography was amazing. New Zealand has to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet. The only bad thing about this movie is that we all have to wait an entire year for the next part.

And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding on to something. Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam? Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. and it's worth fighting for.

When smeagol throws the bread it separates from the leaf its been wrapped in but when Sam finds it after falling the leaf has bread back in it again. Everytime i see this scene i think about the unconditional love that i feel for my mother and the people that will always stay by my side.

My absolute dream. Being able to run away in the forest with a couple of friends with nothing but light weapons and equipment and the sole intent of hunting evil.

Man I wish my music was in the movies Clayton astoforoff on Facebook. I cant believe this movie really happened its a blessing on scene like many others are so magical and even better than in the you. Lords of the ring is a non-stop, 3hours, rollercoaster of a ride! Is is very true to tolkien's work and an enjoyment for the family to see. Before the movies it was hard to get my son to read books other than comics, now he has just finished the Hobbit and can wait to read the Trilogy. Love the flourish at 0:55. N ot many see something ancient they have never seen before. As entertainment, this movie is a 10+ No one can expect more than 300 pages of multi-layer plot to be perfectly represented in (even) a 3 hour movie. The movie is not without minor flaws, but no movie can be perfect either. It reasonably represented the feel, plots, and undercurrents of Tolkein's book.

Anyone who runs is an orc, anyone who stands still is a well-disciplined orc. The transition to the credits, when the screen fades to black and the music switches over to the humming choir and subdued orchestra, was really well executed. Subtle, perfect way to end the movie. Props to Howard Shore for his work on these movies. Imagine Frodo and Sam's face hearing Gimli's laugh from the other side and seeing them running away in happiness. Beautiful music added so much to these movies. Howard Shore did an unbelievable job with this trilogy. Got him on a technicality. Sure did sir.
